JeevisuLive. Learn. Empower. An initiative of Mysore Yoga Foundation

Why Jeevisu

From wellness to humanity.

The foundation began with yoga and well-being. We believe that well-being does not stop at the mat: it also depends on being able to learn, to find opportunity, to be respected and to belong to a community.

Jeevisu — from a word meaning “to live” — is the name we have given to the foundation’s planned work in that wider direction. It is an intention, not a record of work already done.

  1. Life
  2. Learning
  3. Opportunity
  4. Dignity
  5. Community

Three ideas

Live. Learn. Empower.

These describe what Jeevisu hopes to work towards. They are not outcomes we have achieved.

Live

Human well-being, dignity and community — the foundation on which everything else rests.

Learn

Access to education and learning opportunities, at the pace and in the places people can reach.

Empower

Supporting people in developing their own capabilities and opportunities.

Our approach

A proposed way of working

This is the approach we intend to follow. It is a proposal: it is not yet established practice, and no programme has used it.

  1. Listen to communities

Begin by hearing from the people we hope to work alongside.

  2. Identify genuine needs

Work from what people tell us they need, not from assumptions.

  3. Collaborate responsibly

Work with others carefully, with clear roles and accountability.

  4. Design accessible programmes

Shape anything we offer so that more people can take part.

  5. Measure outcomes ethically

Learn from results honestly, protecting people’s privacy.

Jeevisu · Borderless Academy

Planned

Borderless Academy

Education Without Boundaries.

Borderless Academy is a planned education-access initiative under Jeevisu. Its proposed scope is education from school through college, particularly for learners who face geographic, economic or other barriers to access.

Four proposed areas

  1. School-level learning access

Helping school-age learners reach learning opportunities.

  2. College-level learning support

Supporting learners who wish to continue into further study.

  3. Digital and technology-enabled learning

Using technology to reach learners across distance.

  4. Community-based educational opportunities

Learning opportunities developed with and within communities.

These are proposed areas, not active services. There are no courses, teachers, learners, enrolments, learning centres, partnerships, scholarships or certificates, and nothing to apply for.

Building with communities

Not for communities. With them.

We believe lasting work is shaped by the people it is meant to serve. Community participation and local collaboration are central to how we hope to work.

We have not yet established partnerships or community relationships for Jeevisu. We will say so plainly when that changes.

Responsible impact

Measuring honestly

Jeevisu has no results to report yet, so this page shows no figures and no counters. When there is something to measure, we intend to measure it ethically and report it truthfully.

  • Say only what we can show.
  • Protect people’s privacy when we learn from their experience.
  • Be clear about what has and has not happened.
  • Report honestly, including what did not work.

Future collaboration

Who we may one day work with

These are kinds of collaborator we hope to talk to in future. We have no active partnerships, and there is nothing to join.

  • Educational institutions
  • Community organisations
  • Nonprofit organisations
  • Volunteers
  • Professional mentors
  • Corporate CSR teams
  • Local community representatives

Rooted in Wellness. Driven by Humanity.
