Yoga & Wellness

A Path to Balance. A Practice for Life.

Explore the foundation’s vision for accessible yoga and wellness experiences inspired by the traditions of Mysuru.

Every programme on this page is planned. None is available yet.

Our approach

Yoga as a whole practice.

Yoga is many-sided: movement, breath, attention and rest. We see it as a practice that may support general well-being, flexibility, balance and relaxation — and one that should be open to people of different ages, bodies and circumstances.

Our aim is to offer it carefully and honestly, in the traditional spirit of Mysuru, with qualified teachers and respect for each person’s own pace.

Yoga may support general well-being, flexibility, balance and relaxation. It is not a medical treatment and does not replace professional care. Nothing on this page is personalised advice; please speak to a qualified health professional about any health condition before starting a new practice.

Six programmes we are planning

Each is marked with its true status. None has a schedule, venue, instructor, fee or registration yet, and none can be booked.

Traditional Yoga Classes

Planned

Classes that introduce the foundations of yoga — posture, breathing and reflection — in a traditional, welcoming way.

Read the proposed outline

Overview (proposed)

We are planning classes rooted in the traditional practice of yoga, taught patiently and with attention to each person’s ease and pace.

A class would typically combine gentle movement, breathing practices and a period of rest or reflection. The format, levels and teaching approach are still to be decided together with qualified teachers.

Intended audience

  • People who are new to yoga
  • People returning to practice after a break
  • Anyone who would like a calm, traditional introduction

What we hope to offer

  • To help people become familiar with the basics of yoga
  • To offer a calm space to move, breathe and rest
  • To keep practice accessible, with options for different abilities

Proposed session format

  • Group classes — frequency, length and levels to be decided
  • Delivery format (in person or online) to be decided

Accessibility considerations

  • Options and props so that people of different abilities can take part
  • Clear verbal guidance for every posture
  • A step-free venue would be a selection criterion

Professional review

Class design would be reviewed by qualified yoga teachers before any class is offered.

Schedule, venue, instructor and fees

Schedule, venue, instructor, fees and registration are not yet confirmed. This programme is not currently available.

This is not a medical or therapeutic service.

Workplace Yoga

Planned

Short yoga and relaxation sessions designed for workplaces and organisations.

Read the proposed outline

Overview (proposed)

We are exploring sessions that give people a pause in the working day: simple posture, breathing and relaxation practices that suit both desk-based and active roles.

Whether sessions would take place on site or elsewhere, and how they would be arranged with organisations, has not been decided.

Intended audience

  • Teams and employees
  • Organisations interested in hosting sessions for their people

What we hope to offer

  • To offer a pause in the working day
  • To introduce simple practices that can be done in everyday clothes and spaces

Proposed session format

  • Short group sessions — length and frequency to be decided
  • On-site or at a partner location — to be decided

Accessibility considerations

  • Chair-based options so that nobody needs to get onto the floor
  • Sessions adaptable to different abilities and spaces

Professional review

Session content would be reviewed by qualified yoga teachers; any wellbeing material would be checked by an appropriate professional.

Schedule, venue, instructor and fees

Schedule, venue, instructor, fees and registration are not yet confirmed. This programme is not currently available.

Senior Citizen Yoga

Planned

Gentle, accessible practice designed with older adults in mind.

Read the proposed outline

Overview (proposed)

We would like to offer slow, supported practice that older adults can enjoy at their own pace, with seated and supported options throughout.

Because needs vary widely, this programme would be designed with qualified teachers and appropriate professional guidance before any session takes place.

Intended audience

  • Older adults
  • Family members or carers who wish to take part alongside them

What we hope to offer

  • To offer slow, supported movement and breathing
  • To build confidence and enjoyment in gentle practice

Proposed session format

  • Small group sessions — size, length and frequency to be decided
  • Venue and format to be decided

Accessibility considerations

  • Seated and supported options for every practice
  • A slower pace with regular rests
  • A step-free, comfortable venue with seating as a selection criterion
  • Participants would be encouraged to speak to their doctor before starting any new practice

Professional review

Design and delivery would be reviewed by a qualified health professional and by an instructor experienced with older adults before any session is offered.

Schedule, venue, instructor and fees

Schedule, venue, instructor, fees and registration are not yet confirmed. This programme is not currently available.

Availability and registration

Registration is not open. There is nothing to book yet.

This is not medical care, physiotherapy or a falls-prevention treatment, and no health outcome is promised.

Stress & Burnout Recovery

Planned

Breathing, relaxation and mindful-movement practices for everyday stress and tiredness.

Read the proposed outline

Overview (proposed)

We are planning calm, unhurried sessions that offer practices people can take into daily life: breathing, gentle movement and rest.

Stress and burnout can have medical and psychological causes, so this programme would be designed carefully, with professional input, and would point people to appropriate support where needed.

Intended audience

  • People who feel stretched or tired and would like calming practices
  • Organisations looking for calm, non-clinical sessions for their teams

What we hope to offer

  • To offer calming practices people can use in daily life
  • To create unhurried space for rest

Proposed session format

  • Group sessions — length, frequency and format to be decided

Accessibility considerations

  • Gentle, adaptable practices with seated options
  • No expectation of prior experience or flexibility

Professional review

Content would be reviewed by qualified health professionals, and participants would be directed to appropriate professional support where needed.

Schedule, venue, instructor and fees

Schedule, venue, instructor, fees and registration are not yet confirmed. This programme is not currently available.

Availability and registration

Registration is not open. There is nothing to book yet.

Despite the programme’s name, it does not treat, cure or promise recovery from burnout or any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional care.

Special Outreach Programmes

Planned

Programmes shaped with and for people who may find it harder to reach yoga.

Read the proposed outline

Overview (proposed)

Some people face barriers to yoga — cost, distance, health or access needs among them. We would like to explore programmes designed together with the people they are for and with local partners.

No outreach is under way, and no communities or partners are named. Each outreach programme would need its own careful design before it begins.

Intended audience

  • Groups who face barriers to taking part in yoga, to be identified together with partners

What we hope to offer

  • To design programmes together with the people they are for
  • To take yoga to where people already are, where this is appropriate

Proposed session format

  • Partner-led sessions — locations and formats vary and are to be decided

Accessibility considerations

  • Practice adapted to the needs of each group
  • Informed consent and privacy respected in every programme

Professional review

Each outreach programme would need its own review of safeguarding, consent and accessibility before it starts.

Schedule, venue, instructor and fees

Schedule, venue, instructor, fees and registration are not yet confirmed. This programme is not currently available.

Availability and registration

Registration is not open. There is nothing to book yet.

No outreach has taken place; nothing here describes completed work.

Yoga Teacher Training

Planned

A planned pathway for people who wish to learn how to teach yoga.

Read the proposed outline

Overview (proposed)

We are exploring how the foundation might one day support people who want to learn to teach yoga in a traditional, careful way.

Any training would need qualified faculty, a clear curriculum and honest information about what it does and does not certify.

Intended audience

  • People considering teaching yoga in the future

What we hope to offer

  • To support careful, traditional teaching practice
  • To be transparent about what any training covers

Proposed session format

  • Structure, length and format to be decided

Accessibility considerations

  • Course materials and sessions designed to be accessible to a range of learners

Professional review

The curriculum and any certification route would be reviewed by appropriately qualified yoga educators and, if certification is ever intended, by the relevant accrediting body.

Schedule, venue, instructor and fees

Schedule, venue, instructor, fees and registration are not yet confirmed. This programme is not currently available.

Availability and registration

Registration is not open. There is nothing to book yet.

This training is not accredited. The foundation does not currently offer, and does not imply, any certification or accreditation.

Every stage of life

Yoga for every stage of life

Over time we hope our programmes can be shaped for different ages and needs. Each would be designed with qualified teachers and, where appropriate, health professionals — and none exists yet.

  • New beginnings

A gentle, welcoming way into practice.

  • Working life

Short practices that fit around the day.

  • Later years

    Slower, supported practice.

  • Every ability

Options so that more people can take part.

Wellness beyond the mat

Wellness is more than a class

We hope to take a broader view of well-being over time. This is the approach we intend — it is not yet offered.

  • Breath and rest

Simple breathing and relaxation practices that people can use anywhere.

  • Everyday routines

Small, kind habits that sit comfortably in ordinary days.

  • Community and belonging

Practising alongside others, in a space that feels welcoming.

A future yoga network

Planned

Connecting people with studios.

We are exploring the idea of a network that could help people find participating yoga studios and classes in and around Mysuru.

If it ever goes ahead, we would want studios to be checked before they are listed, information to be clear and honest, and enquiries to respect people’s privacy.

This is a concept only. No studios have joined, there are no listings, and nothing can be booked or registered.

Retreats & experiences

Time set apart for practice

We hope to host retreats and community gatherings in the future. No dates or venues are confirmed, and nothing is available to join yet.
